A Whirlwind 24 Hours
Wow! I don’t know where to start. It’s been a whirlwind 24 hours. If you’re new to reading my blog, you probably don’t know about our relocation to Colorado last September, which wound up to be a very short-lived move.
We call it our “11 week vacation in Colorado” or Our Colorado Adventure.
I guess I’ve been online for so long now that social media stories are just a natural part of what we’re doing. However, for those who still have yet to venture into the online world, or who aren’t quite sure what social networking is, it’s still foreign to them, and especially in these economic times, I hope this story gives them ideas on how they can embrace this, too.
Phineas and Ferb
I didn’t post them last night because I couldn’t find them. Of course, when I’m not looking for something, that’s when it shows up.
I wanted to post these because when Emily showed these two drawings to me, I had the same reaction as her George Jetson drawing.
If you have elementary age kids, who even occasionally watch The Disney Channel, then you’ll know who Phineas and Ferb are. It’s quite a funny cartoon.
These are images from the show.

Last week, schools here were closed Thursday and Friday because of the extremely cold temperatures. We’re talking minus 30 and minus 40. It was too cold for the kids to go outside to play, so I guess you could say Emily got caught up on her tv watching (and book reading, too!)
Emily loves art stuff and making things, so I just let her take the paper from my printer whenever she needs it. Needless to say, those two days saw quite a bit of activity at the kitchen table.
Wisconsin Winters Can Be Brutal
It’s no secret that I like to run. I’m not a competitive runner, except maybe with myself, although it’s been about 9 years since I’ve run in a race. I just like to run to stay fit and to clear my head.
There’s also no denying that Wisconsin winters can be pretty brutal. Just last week, schools were closed Thursday and Friday because of sub zero temps.. and I mean sub-zero, like 30 and 40 below.
It’s not unusual for kids to have to wear coats sometimes on Halloween. Last winter it stayed cold all the way from Halloween right to early May, nearly 6 months of cold.
