Second Chances and Do-Overs

Now that we are in the second month of 2012, how are your daily goals, business plan and consistency going for you so far? If you’re answer is ‘well, no so great’, then keep looking toward TODAY.

For my international readers, today happens to be Groundhog Day in the U.S. This is the day where Punxsutawney Phil either sees his shadow, indicating six more weeks of winter.. or he does not, supposedly an indicator of spring on its way.

I live in Wisconsin, so I can tell you that we’ll definitely have six more weeks of winter regardless of whether he sees his shadow or not.

Real Life Isn’t PhotoShopped

Welcome to 2012

Happy New Year! I don’t know about you, but I’m super-excited for 2012. 2011 was the year of crystal-clear vision, focus and purpose for me both personally and professionally.

I don’t make a list of resolutions, but I set goals and benchmarks instead. One of those is for my health & fitness.

It’s an area of my life that is very important to me. While I love to run, I’m not a competitive athlete. For me, it’s about lifestyle. I love to hike, bike, snow ski, and most anything outdoors.

Life is Too Short For…

I was on the treadmill earlier today (trying to ward of last night’s margarita panini) and I got to thinking about this past year.

It had its ups and downs, yet there was something truly special about 2011. It was the year that defined where I, my family and my business are headed into this next season of my life.

I got to thinking about all the amazing relationships and people I’ve met this year and how different things are than this time last year.

Lemonade Stands for Grownups

Recently, I was visiting some friends on Facebook and came across a post by a social media ‘expert.’

The conversation was about the latest social media project she was working on with a local business networking group and how it was going to be this, that and the ‘other thing.’

It really got me thinking…

Why can’t adults build their business on the lemonade stand principle?

Why do we have to make our business so stinkin’ complicated? Is it any wonder why many people struggle for years?

Here’s what I mean…

  • Cool idea! I don't use creamer, but this would be neat to store things like flax seeds, granola and other dry toppings.

  • Looks yum!

  • The book title shouldn't say "diet" because it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle.
