And Baby Makes Four
No, not me! But, it made you look didn’t it?
My neighbor across the street just had a baby and we are so excited for them. Four kids all under the age of six. Wow! So, I can imagine things are probably a big chaotic over at their house, to say the least.
They’ve had family in town and the dad has taken some time off of work. The mom sent us a picture, via email, of their new arrival and the picture was so cute that I just couldn’t resist!
The two older girls had pink t-shirts on that say, “I’m the big sister” and their son has a blue t-shirt on that says, “I’m the big brother”
Back from Chicago TER
I am back from Chicago and it was an amazing 24 hours. The event I went to is a regional conference / workshop for the greeting card company that I represent.
Over the years, I’ve been invited to some of the typical “rah rah” events from other companies and they are a turn off to me. The workshops we do are the real nuts and bolts, meat & potato’s of building our business.
Friday night was a special event for Senior Managers and above only, which was awesome!
I got to personally meet some of the top leaders in our company and pick their brains a little bit. Saturday was an all day workshop with our CEO, the top leaders and trainers.
I took so many notes, one of my pens ran out of ink!
The thing that kept running through my head the whole time was how many people we can positively make a difference for. So many people, right now, are being let go of their jobs every single day.
Teaching Kids About Appreciation
Emily loves sending cards and I think it’s so important that we teach our kids about the value of sending thank you cards and showing true appreciation.
When Emily was in kindergarten, each month, they studied a different country around the world. At the end of the school year, the teacher and the class put on a mini worlds’ fair. It was so much fun. There were tables set up for each country with special clothes, foods, games and themes unique to that nation.
All the kids were encouraged to invite a friend, so Emily asked the little girl who lives in the house behind us. Even though they go to different schools, hey have been good friends since we all moved into this neighborhood.
