Life is Too Short For…

I was on the treadmill earlier today (trying to ward of last night’s margarita panini) and I got to thinking about this past year.

It had its ups and downs, yet there was something truly special about 2011. It was the year that defined where I, my family and my business are headed into this next season of my life.

I got to thinking about all the amazing relationships and people I’ve met this year and how different things are than this time last year.

I also started thinking about the toxicity in my life. You know… toxic friends, toxic family members and toxic business associates. Essentially, the people that suck the fun out of life. They figure if they have to be miserable, they want everybody else miserable along with them.

You know who those people are in your life. Some of them we can avoid, some of them we can’t. I learned that I can’t control what other people do. I can only control how I react to what they do.

So, I came up with my own ideas of how to deal with them and it morphed into a “Life it Too Short For…” list.

Feel free to add your own in the comments below.

Life is Too Short for..

  • Holding a grudge
  • Being judgemental
  • Not having fun
  • Letting it (life) define you vs. you defining your life
  • Dreaming small
  • Letting other people tell you how to live
  • Drama
  • Allowing toxic people to effect your life
  • Allowing fear to rule over your decisions
  • Not taking risks
  • Wondering ‘what if?’
  • Waiting for the perfect moment to…. (there are no perfect moments)

and that’s what I came up with so far. So, how about you? What are some of your ‘life is too short for…”

  • Cool idea! I don't use creamer, but this would be neat to store things like flax seeds, granola and other dry toppings.

  • Looks yum!

  • The book title shouldn't say "diet" because it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle.
