Your Great Escape: Direct Sales or Network Marketing?

choicesIn this part of our “Great Escape” series, we look at the direct sales / network marketing profession.

While there are some similarities, there are also big differences.

There are numerous companies in a variety of industries within this profession. How to choose?

Choosing a network marketing company and team to partner with can be a challenge. Here are some key things to look for:

Some Things to Look for in the Product:

- Unique, consumable product that people can’t get anywhere else or that is delivered in a new way and that they will use over and over again. Why should people buy your product when they can go to WalMart to get a similar product?

- Strong company management team, leadership and vision for the future.

Important sidebar to note: Some companies are publicly-traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). There are distributors of publicly-traded companies who use this as part of their marketing, somehow thinking that it means the company is more reputable.

A publicly-traded network marketing company does not necessarily mean that there is strong leadership and vision. It doesn’t even mean they are financially stable. All it means is that the company decided to go public in order to raise capital for expansion.

- Would you use the product even if you weren’t thinking of joining the opportunity?

Your business should have a good balance of retail customers as well as business partners, so if you wouldn’t use the product, you couldn’t expect anyone else to.

What About The Opportunity?

- What is the opportunity for new business partners looking to join your company?

- How is the compensation plan structured?

- Is it set up for long term leveraged passive income?

If you’re looking for financial security with time freedom, the only way to achieve that is with a compensation plan structured for leveraged passive income.

- Does the company, and team you are considering partnering with, have a solid training program in place for you and your team to follow?

*This is my no means a complete list or the only things you should look for, although it will give you a great start with a lot of things to consider.
