When I first started working from home, my biggest dream, besides not leaving Emily in daycare, was that I thought it would be so cool to be able to have a 100% portable business.

Back in 2001, laptops and mini’s weren’t quite the rage. On the contrary, about the only portable computer at the time was IBM’s Thinkpad and it was big bucks. Back then, many of us were still on dial-up and AOL while waiting for DSL lines to come into the neighborhood.

How things have changed and how things will continue to change! Today, my laptop is more powerful than my desktop and everything I need to access for my business, is web-based.

We can run our business from the beach of Bermuda or the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. For us, it’s Colorado and here’s why:

What’s your why?

  • Someday I'd like to, no, I WILL have a property with a spacious home and beautiful gardens, a horse or two and enough money to go away whenever I want to wherever I want with my family :-) OR just be content to stay put because it's my dream lifestyle :-)

  • Hi Christine!

Thanks for stopping by. I remember the very first time I went to Colorado, I said, “Yes, someday I'm going to live here.”

For me, it's not even so much about having a spacious home, but rather, just being able to have the time freedom to enjoy the fun stuff.

My daughter is really into horses, too, and told us that last week that she wants to work on a horse ranch in Colorado.

We still in Wisconsin, (long story!), but are definitely working getting back to Colorado.

I visited your website, your daughter is adorable!

  • Thanks! She has an adorable personality, too.

I love Colorado. A ranch there would suit me well :-)
