February Snow Fun in Wisconsin

I live in Wisconsin. It snows…frequently and sometimes a lot. Saturday, we had yet another winter storm roll through and those are usually good days to cuddle up with a blanket by the fireplace, watch movies, drink hot chocolate and just have a nice ‘jammie day.”
Emily is an outside kid as is the little boy who lives next door. If it’s not lightening or sub-zero, they’ll be outside playing, which is the way I think should be.
Summers growing up on Long Island, we were out the door after breakfast, came in for lunch, out the door again after lunch until dinner, and then back outside until it was time for bed. Winters were pretty much the same. We’d go ice skating, sledding, just about anything outside.
From this past storm, we had about 6 or so inches, and it’s the good packing snow, too. So, Emily and Jude built this snow fort in our front yard yesterday afternoon.
You should have seen them, it was so cute and he’s such a polite kid. I think they were outside for most of the afternoon.

Ahh yes, the changing seasons here on Long Island, I remember them well as a kid.
Of course if our mothers knew some of the hills we actually sledded (not being the ones we told them about) they may have a retroactive coronary.

Very cute! We got the snow here too this past weekend but not as much as they were calling for thank goodness. I do not like the cold or snow, never have. I would so love to live where it’s warm year round.

I know, Angie.. you’re a warm weather gal, that’s for sure. I do love the snow, but not the bitter sub-zero temps.
Today it’s supposed to be upper 30′s here, which will seem like a heat wave compared to what we’ve had all winter.
