Yikes! It’s New Year’s Eve

It’s been just about 2 months since my last blog post, so I guess I had better write something before you all think I’m slacking on the job.

Actually, it’s quite the contrary. In all my years working from home, I have never been as busy as I have been in the last half of 2010.

To reflect on this past year and try to sum up my emotions in one post is difficult. So many things happened, that I really don’t know where to begin.

Unexpected Twists and Turns

My business took a very unexpected turn this year, in a good way, and it’s a turn that I would have never imagined just a year ago. I know I wouldn’t have been ready for this had it been a few years ago, so I truly believe everything happens when it’s supposed to.

Needless to say, Inspired WebWorks is poised for some really big things in 2011.

I am also very excited to be part of an amazing team of women and we’ll be hosting our very first women’s empowerment event in the spring. Keep an eye out in your email box for details!

Ten Years Later

Emily celebrated a double-digit birthday! Yikes, where did the last ten years go?

In case you didn’t know, this means that in 2011, I’ll be celebrating my 10 year anniversary of leaving corporate America for the work at home lifestyle.

I guess that means I’ll have to plan something pretty big.

Family Means Everything

Most importantly, and the reason why I do what I do, family is everything. My sons returned safely from a year’s deployment to the Middle East. It was a hard year emotionally for those of us at home and I didn’t truly exhale until I knew their planes touched down on US soil.

We spent some really great family time when they were able to come visit in October (at the same time!), something we hadn’t been able to do in 2 1/2 years.

My son, Matt, became engaged, so I’m going to be a mother-in-law come next June!

We just returned from a 10-day trip to the east coast to spend Christmas with my parents, something else we hadn’t done in a long time. We had a blast and really hated having to leave. We were right in the midst of the big blizzard and of course, as soon as she could, Emily was out making a snow fort.

The Power of Portability

While away, I had my laptop with me, and while it was a family trip, I was still able to attend to light business duties while away, not missing a beat. I am truly thankful for having a business I can take anywhere.

All in all, 2010 was an amazing year. I am truly blessed in more ways that I can imagine, with an amazing family and great friends, and am really looking forward to seeing what 2011 brings.

So, from my family to yours, Happy New Year to you! My wish for you is an amazing year of great health, happiness and abundance.
