After my post on How Do You Start Your Day? which highlighted the key things I do every morning, I had emails from a lot of you asking, “What about the rest of the day, Patty?”

That’s a great question and one I had definitely planned on following up on, so I suppose now is a great time.

Oprius is great at organizing my schedule for the day, which includes phone calls to either schedule appointments, networking calls, training or any other assortment of calls that relate to my business.

I try not to make calls too early, and depending on what time zone they are in, I’ll make most calls between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Before I make phone calls, though, I send new cards out every single day… they could be to businesses, friends, thank you cards, etc. It just depends on the day. Some of them are automatically sent out for me, with my own personal message and handwriting that I’ve already scheduled.

I don’t really eat much of a lunch, usually just a vanilla soy protein shake, sometimes with fruit, sometimes not. They’re pretty filling and I don’t want to spoil my appetite for dinner.

Even though I come from a large, New York Italian family (yes, we love to cook!), my husband is an amazing cook and always coming up with something spectacular.

Picking up Emily from school is probably THE highlight of my day. I remember when I was a little girl, back in the 60′s (yes, I’m dating myself!), there was no greater feeling of comfort than when I walked out of school and saw my mom standing there waiting for me.

When get to school and walk around the corner to where they hang their coats and see her face light up with “Hi Mom!” and she greets me with a big hug, it’s like nothing else.

Doug gets home and we always eat dinner as a family every night. We like to keep our activities and lives pretty simple. I’m really not a complicated person and neither is my husband or our kids.

I don’t like to overload schedules… I believe that kids need to be allowed to just be kids. You won’t see a calendar of my daughter’s gazillion activities hanging in our kitchen because there isn’t one.

It’s not that we don’t participate in things, but you know what I mean…we don’t have the Monday – Piano Lessons , Tuesday – Tennis, Wednesday – Soccer, etc. etc. etc. but we can reserve that conversation for another post.

I usually don’t work evenings. I’ll make a blog post, or check a couple of the social networks, but that doesn’t really isn’t work. Actually, when you think of it, my business most days doesn’t really feel like work.

Next month, I’ll be posting about my 8 year anniversary in business, so be sure to get the updates by either email. There’s a box over there to the right to enter your email address.

Enter your email address below and I'll let you know when I make my next post.
